Then by about six months it was just like I’d read the book visually - I could remember it, tell the characters apart, etc.Įventually I noticed the effect had spilled over to other things, like being able to understand spoken instructions without having to write them down or ask to read it from the source. After a couple months I realized I was able to follow the story as I was listening, but had no memory of it afterward. But I was REALLY bored so I just kept getting more. And at first that’s exactly how it was - couldn’t picture what was being described, couldn’t differentiate the characters, and couldn’t really track what they were doing. So I borrowed some audiobooks from the library even though I’d never liked them because I couldn’t process the info. ![]() ![]() I used to deliver pizza, and I got bored with the radio and the music I had (this was before ipods). I somewhat accidentally trained my brain to be an auditory learner (and retained my visual learning ability as well).
